Is a cash discount program actually legal?
Yes — cash discount programs are legal in all 50 states when disclosed correctly, and are federally permitted under the Dodd-Frank Act. This is different from straight credit card surcharging, which is banned or restricted in some states; Innowi handles the compliance difference for you.
A cash discount posts the card price as standard and reduces the total for customers who pay cash. A surcharge adds a fee on top of a listed price specifically for card payments — a different program with stricter, state-by-state rules. Innowi’s dual-pricing display uses the cash discount structure.
Elavon with more partners added over time. Innowi Inc. is a registered ISO of Elavon, Inc.
Deposits are made within hours of each batch, seven days a week — including weekends, unlike processors that only fund on business days.
One system covers all of it — in-store, online ordering, kiosk, and delivery all run through the same payment processing and the same reporting.
No — the Innowi ChecOut M terminal displays both prices and handles the transaction in one step, with the required signage and receipt disclosures built in.
